Pearls Of Wisdom And Other Shit

Commish after working the Air Show on Saturday escaped Alpaca duty long enough to join the Pot Game on Sunday.  He was his usual acid tongued self on the first tee when the first group took a full 8 minutes to tee off.

Tractorman continues to rake in the Pots with 4.5 sides out of 6 this past weekend.  Followed by Chimney's 4 sides.

Cheez plays in a group at the Villages called "The Sticks".  Before he left for NH this past spring he was struggling with his game while playing in the "Sticks" tournaments.  He just received an email the other day from the "Stick's Commish" which read:

Dear Phil,

As you know the Sticks pride themselves on having top quality golfers in our group who can maintain handicaps under 4.  It has come to our attention by tracking GHIN that your play this summer in NH has fallen below our standards for maintaining your membership in our group.  We therefore regret to inform you that you have been placed on super secret probation and will not be allowed to rejoin until such time that you can keep your handicap below 4 for at least a month.

Sincerely,

Head Stick

Little Bow Pete did a little handicap adjusting on Saturday after he shot 73 on Friday, he threw in an 80 on Saturday which cost Bear and Billy D.  He then followed up with a 76 on Sunday.  The moral is don't get him on your team after he shoots a low score the day before as he needs to maintain his "bagger" status.

Start time for Pot Game will be 7:30 am this weekend and Mid Week will be 8am this week.

Deacon swore that he will never again be a nice guy and mark one of his teammate's ball on the green.  He said he counted up the other day and estimated he has lost $5 dollars in quarters, when the person he marked the ball for deposits the quarter in their pocket instead of tossing it back to him.  When pressed about who in particular he was talking about he said the person's name who was the biggest offender rhymed with "sneeze".

40 wants to know if Pot Gamers would like to play a 4 ball tournament in late October on a Saturday.  He would appoint captains to pick teams and do the pairings.  He is estimating about $50 a man for prizes.  If there is enough interest he will start the planning.  Let him know.

On October 1st, Bretwood will be holding a ceremony along the right side of the 1st fairway on the North Course to name and dedicate the pine trees as "Fireman Forest".   "After years of launching his drives into those pines, we felt it would be only fitting to honor Fireman with a plaque and naming the trees in his honor," Mad Dog said.

Don't you love skins, Sandy and TJ both eagle 10 south get nothing, Chimney birdies 1 south and gets a skin.

Billy D is starting to think about skiing as the leaves are falling off the trees.  He recently sent Gretchen out to Colorado to check out the early snow conditions.  She emailed him back this photo.
