Lost Blankee

As 6:45 was approaching Mad Dog was writing down name after name until finally at the deadline he had 24 Pot Gamers ready to play under ideal temperatures and no wind.  After he used his calculator to figure out how many teams to create,  six foursomes gathered on the first tee.  Bear asked if anyone wanted to make a dollar bet on whether Deacon would shoot over or under shoot 84.  Quickly the first few Bettors were taking the over, but slowly a few unders stepped forward until there were 11 players placing a bet.  Seven took the over with four taking the under.  Deacon had no idea this was happening until his group told him on the first green after he missed a short putt (his Captain Skrocki had the under). When the dust had cleared Deacon proved the overs correct with a score of 88.  The Bookie was out $3, as each over (7) won $2 a piece.  Next weeks line will be published on Friday after a full mental and physical evaluation of the Deacon is completed.

There must have been something in the air as team after team struggled to score under these ideal conditions.  Captain Skrocki's team of Jay Esh, Deacon and Mark H led the way with a + 3 front when most teams were in double digits.  Bear's team of Commish, Birdie and House thinking they were out of it after a +10 front shot +4 on the back which proved to be a winner of both back and total.  The other totals were +18, +21, +20, +20 and +19.  No one could remember scores collectively being this high.

There were six skins worth $20 a piece by Pudge 1, Mad Dog 1, Tee J 1, Hilow 1, Bret 1 and Bear 1.
Only six players broke 80.  Commish 75, Bear 75, Mad Dog 76, Pudge 77, Skrocki 78 and Jay Esh 78.  Mad Dog and Bear after a match of cards ended up even.  So YTD Bear up $6.

Cheez With Blankee  Photo By Cubbie
The story of the day was Cheez losing his "blankee" which is really a foul smelling towel with a slit in the middle.  He moaned and groaned after he lost it, driving his whole team crazy.  Rama found a rag on the 11th tee and after a quick evaluation promptly deposited it in its rightful place,  the trash bucket.  When Cheez was still moaning about his loss on the deck Rama feeling sorry for him went all the way back to the 11th tee and got it for him.  Amazing that some other golfer seeing it in the trash didn't want that valuable item.
