Wipeout Wednesday

Despite Cheez's declaration "no way we can lose" his team did.  Bear's team of Pistol Pete, Fireman and Hilow swept all sides.  They were + 6 on the front and +4 on the back for a +10 total.  Cheez's dream team consisted of Captain Skrocki, Hagen and Billy D.  They went +10 front, +5 back for +15 total.  Mad Dog lead the team of Dougie, Skooger and Lenny who struggled to +15 front, +8 Back for a +23 total (ouch).  The scores were reflective of wet uncut greens for the first 8 holes where it was impossible to get the ball to roll to the hole and then cut greens on the other holes after the players were cocking their wrists to putt.  It was safe to say Mad Dog had to open the steam valves early and often he was so upset over the course conditions.  Low scores of the day were Bear 72, Billy D 78 and Mad Dog & Skrocki 79.  After plucking $4 from the Bear at the Gold game last Sat playing dollar a hole, Mad Dog barked at Bear if he wanted to play him again.  He said he would and then proceeded to roll in 5 birdies on the back nine to collect $9 off Mad Dog.  Deck chatter produced a gem.  Cheez said when he was in a hot streak of fine play at the Villages one of his fellow partners referred to him as "Phil The Thrill".  However when he hit the skids of terrible scores the next week, he found a note on his cart that simply said "The Thrill Is Gone".
